Certified Floodplain Managers

The Certified Floodplain Manager Program (CFM Program) has two fundamental goals:

The CFM program supported by CASFM was developed by and is administered by the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM).  A complete discussion of the CFM program can be read by clicking here. CASFM first proctored the CFM exam at the 2002 Annual Conference in Steamboat Springs. At that time there were less than five CFM's in Colorado. Currently, there are 344 in the state.

CASFM will proctor the ASFPM CFM exam Wednesday September 22 at the 2010 Annual Conference in Snowmass, and will conduct a full-day review class the day before on Tuesday September 21st. You do not have to take the class in order to take the exam, but most people who do take the exam find the class to be a great benefit. You also do not have to take the exam in order to take the class. Some people just like to take the class as a refresher course or as a good seminar on floodplain rules and regulations.
