2010 Annual CASFM Conference

Mountain Bike Tour along the Brush Creek Trail, Snowmass CO

Are you ready for an authentic Snowmass Mountain Biking Adventure?  Well get your bikes into gear because this year’s 2010 Annual CASFM Bike Tour is an experience that you cannot miss.  This year on our bike tour we will be riding along the Brush Creek Trail (paved beginners trail) starting at the Snowmass Village and ending at Base Village.  However, the fun does not stop at the end of Brush Creek trail at Base Village, riders have the option of (1) riding their bikes back downhill on the Brush Creek Trail to Snowmass Village, (2) taking a bus down from the Base Village back to the Snowmass Village, or (3) continuing up the Snowmass mountain by taking the Elk Camp Gondola up to some harder trails. Riding along the Brush Creek Trail gives CASFM members the opportunity to observe and learn about the hydrology around the Snowmass area including water quality issues along Brush Creek, the large erosion control project at the Base Village, as well as water usage and conservation.  The conditions of the trails in late September will most likely be dry and possibly dusty depending on the rainfall in August.

 We would be delighted if you could please join us for the CASFM 21^st annual conference Bike Tour, which will be held on Friday September 24th, 2010 from around 9:00am-1:30pm.  Mountain Bike rentals will be available at Fourmountain Sport located at the Snowmass and Base Village. 9:00am             Pick up bike rentals at Fourmountain Sport in the Snowmass Village

                                  Mountain Bike Deluxe: $31.96/day (price may vary)

                                  Mountain Bike Performance: $39.96/day (price may vary)

9:30am             Meet at Brush Creek Trailhead at the Snowmass Village

11:00am           Arrive at the top of Brush Creek Trail at the Base Village.

                        Participant’s Options:

1.     Ride back downhill on the Brush Creek Village to Snowmass Village

2.     Take a bus down from the Base Village to Snowmass Village

Take the Elk Camp Gondola  up to Elk Camp Café to ride more difficult trails
